Lost in all the madness that happened last night at the NBA Draft and the blockbuster trade between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, was this transaction between the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets.
The Grizzlies traded forward Darrell Arthur and the rights to Joffrey Lauvergne, the No. 55 pick in the 2013 draft, to the Nuggets in exchange for center Kosta Koufos.
Arthur had spent all of his four-year career with the Grizzlies and was usually the first big off the bench, providing grit and scoring. Koufus, was one of many big men on the Nuggets roster and would appear to be surplus to the requirements in the new Brian Shaw regime.
