Heat forward Shane Battier lost out on minutes once the Heat decided they had to go with a bigger lineup to survive against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Battier is a class act all around, and didn’t take the benching to hard. Battier was discussing his benching as the Heat prepare to face the Spurs for a world title, and according to AP reporter Tim Reynolds, Battier “compared the benching to eating a turd sandwich.”

In humble talk, Battier simply explained that being strong through adversity, just makes the next time he starts or the overall victory that much sweeter.
