I have to say I am shocked by this one. Billups has some left in the tank and could be a great asset on a contending team, but instead he signed a two year deal with the team that made him a star, the Detroit Pistons.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the deal could be worth more than $5 million.
Detroit traded Billups to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson during the 2008-2009 season and has since played for the New York Knicks and most recently the Los Angeles Clippers. He was originally drafted by the Boston Celtics.
It is expected that he will be a mentor for young point guard Brandon Knight.
