The Washington Wizards have built a solid core over the past few years. Struggling to win very many games, the team has found itself near the top of the NBA Draft after nearly every season so the talent influx has already began.
But if the team is ready for the playoffs, it needs former no. 1 overall pick John Wall to start reaching the immense potential many saw for him coming into the league. To his credit though, Wall knows a lot rides on him this season.
He sat down to talk with RealGM’s Shams Charania recently, and let it be known that he is ready for a huge season.
For his part, Wall asserted unmistakably Monday that the upcoming season will bring out his star qualities so many envisioned when he became the Wizards’ No. 1 pick.
“Next year is a breakout year for me,” Wall told RealGM. “I’m not really going to talk about it – I want to go out there and play and let my game do the talking. I want to be in the playoffs. That’s my goal. That’s my only goal.
“Four years in, I got to start seeing what the playoff experience is like.”
