After losing to Justin Gatlin in a 100 meters race in Rome’s Golden Gala meeting last month, many speculated that maybe, just maybe, Usain Bolt’s grip on the throat of men’s sprinting was loosening. Well I’m here to tell you that any such assertions were premature.
In a story via Nick Zaccardi of Olympic Talk, the Olympic champion was back to his regular dominant self today after he clocked the fastest 200 meters time of the year, at the Diamond League meet in Paris. Bolt finished the race in 19.73, narrowly edging the previous fastest time of the year which was 19.74, set by American sprinter Tyson Gay, who did not participate in the race today.

Bolt and CNN personality Piers Morgan, also had a little friendly exchange following the race.
Where did I go? Lol“@piersmorgan: And The King is back > @usainbolt fastest 200m of the year.”
