Charles Barkley is a polarizing figure here in Philadelphia, so it should be no surprise that Barkley ripped the 76ers, new GM Sam Hinkie, and the notion that smart athletes are a bonus all in one interview.
Barkley was on CBS radio in Philadelphia when he ripped Hinkie, and his analytic approach to building a roster.
“I have a problem with the way the Sixers are running their organization right now,” he said. “You know I don’t believe in that analytical crap. If LeBron James couldn’t spell cat, I want him on my team. I always tell people, give me a dumb guy that can really play. Don’t give me no smart guy.”
That’s right, Barkley could give a rat’s a– that one of his teammates couldn’t read a menu, as long as he could hit 15 footer.
