Preseason #9 Louisville Cardinals just got a big boost. Former Auburn and Arkansas State running back Michael Dyer will enroll at Louisville and is eligible immediately. Fitz Hill, the President of Arkansas Baptist College and also Dyer’s mentor said:
“He’s excited to have an opportunity to resume his career,” Hill told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday evening. “Many people doubted that Michael would ever make this comeback, and it’s here.”
Dyer rushed for more than 1,000 yards in both his freshman and sophomore seasons at Auburn and was the offensive MVP of the 2011 BCS Championship game before running into some trouble with guns and drugs.
If Dyer can keep his nose clean, it’s clear that he can play football and will help Louisville on their quest to make a national championship run. If you are wondering what star QB Teddy Bridgewater thinks, he said on Monday that the team would welcome the addition of Dyer.
It would be a great comeback story if Dyer can make it work. Here’s hoping he makes the most of his third chance.
