Bob Stoops is dealing with a quarterback competition at Oklahoma for the first time in years, and the three battle just became two.
ESPN is reporting that sophomore quarterback Kendal Thompson suffered a fractured right foot during the teams first practice of the season.
Thompson was battling junior Blake Bell and redshirt freshman Trevor Knight for the Sooners Job. For the first time since pre Sam Bradford, Stoops is looking for a definitive answer at quarterback.
“We’re optimistic that Kendal will return early in the season,” Sooners coach Bob Stoops said in a statement. “He has a very positive outlook and is eager to rejoin his teammates on the field as soon as possible.”
