The Steelers used the 17th pick in this year’s NFL draft to take LB Jarvis Jones. While his progress in camp has been slow, he seemed to have been coming around to playing form that the organization would like recently. Last night against the Chiefs, Jones suffered a chest injury in the 4th quarter and left the stadium in an ambulance reports CBS Sports.
The Steelers have noted that they do believe that Jones will be fine and that taking him to the hospital was just a precaution. While it hasn’t been the best preseason for Jones, he can get the rookie pass for now. Jones had a prolific senior year at UGA with 14.5 sacks, 24.5 tackles for loss and 7 forced fumbles, so the expectation is that he will eventually adjust to the NFL.
