Dana White Thinks UFC 168 Will be Biggest in History

Dana White

When it comes to PPV events, UFC 100, held back in 2009, is universally acclaimed as the best top to bottom event in UFC history.  It still holds a company record of 1.5 million PPV buys, brought on by a card that was main event that featured Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir in the Heavyweight title unification bout.  Also, on that card was young light heavyweight, Jon Jones, who was beginning his rise in the UFC.

UFC 168 will be headlined by the rematch for the Middleweight Championship between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.  The co-main event will be for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship as Ronda Rousey takes on Miesha Tate.  Dana White thinks this event has the potential to surpass the 1.5 million buys.

“I think it’s going to be the biggest fight we’ve ever done. Bigger than UFC 100. On every level. Tickets, pay-per-views, everything. You’re going to see a motivated Anderson, but what makes this so much fun is, what Anderson are you going to see? How is this thing going to go? That’s such a big part of the fun.”

Not sure if this event can eclipse the best in company history, but with the anticipation to see if Anderson Silva can regain his title and White being the promoter he is, don’t be shocked if the event gets close.
