I bet Brian Kelly is jumping for joy at thought of having his original quarterback back in the fold in less than two weeks.
Kelly told ESPN Tuesday that Golson’s application for reenrollment at the school has been approved, and he would be officially readmitted Dec. 13.
“[T]hat information has been provided to admissions,” Kelly said. “It’s just a matter of them sending out the admittance letter and then being back on campus sometime around the 15th of December.”
Golson will not be able to practice with the Fighting Irish (8-4) during their bowl-game preparations. He cannot travel with the team to its to-be-determined bowl site, either.
He will, however, be enrolled in time for Notre Dame’s upcoming spring camp, and will be a redshirt junior during the 2014 season.
Golson was dismissed from Notre Dame at the end of Notre Dame’s spring 2013 semester for what he later admitted was cheating on a test.
