The (11-1) Michigan State Spartans play the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday in the Big Ten Championship. General conception says that if Ohio State wins, they’ll be playing in the National Championship.
Although, there’s some contractors that think a 1-loss SEC team would deserve that bid over an unbeaten Ohio State. Michigan State’s head coach Mark Dantonio disagrees with that notion.
“I do believe, should Ohio State win, that they should represent in the national championship game,” Dantonio said via ESPN.com. “I think that when you have an undefeated football team, that’s the right thing to do….That’s my tip of the hat to Ohio State.”
I understand Ohio State’s schedule is a lot lighter compared to those of the SEC teams, but at the end of the day, Ohio State would have beaten everybody on their schedule (if they beat Michigan State) and it’ll be awfully hard to deny them a chance to play for the National Championship.
