Basketball nets aren’t the only things being cut during March Madness.
For some reason the number of vasectomy operations spike during the NCAA Tournament–the factor of non-stop games over a number weeks, coupled with the fact it’s an exclusively male operation seems to play a big role, The Big Lead reports,
A major clinic in Ohio reports it performs 40 or 50 more vasectomies a month before and during the 68-team basketball tourney.
Dr. Andrew Morris, a urologist here in the metro, agrees. He said he sees more patients than normal during the next couple of weeks.
The reasoning behind it makes a lot of sense, what better way than to recuperate from a surgery ‘down there’ than to lay comfortably in bed watching buzzer beaters.
