The first round match-up between the Houston Rockets and Portland Trailblazers figures to be the most evenly matched pairing in the Western Conference. Game 1 of their series last night did nothing but prove that to be the case. Portland got a late tip-in from Lamarcus Aldridge to send the game to overtime, before eventually prevailing in the extra session and stealing home-court from Houston. Aldridge was monster, going for 46 points and 18 rebounds before fouling out.
While the battle on the court was great entertainment, the official Twitter accounts of both teams were busy going back and forth during the game. Houston started things off by taking a jab at Robin Lopez after a technical foul with a spot on comparison of his look and a certain Simpsons character.

Things got fun when the game went into overtime. During an exchange between Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley and Blazer point guard Damian Lillard, the two teams took turns talking a little trash. The Rockets account was impressed with a Beverley strip of Lillard on a late drive.
Patrick. Beverley.

The only problem was that Portland got the ball back, and well Lillard got his revenge, setting up this great tweet from the Blazers account.
Just got torched #LillardTime RT @HoustonRockets Patrick. Beverley.

In the end, Aldridge and Lillard carried the Blazers to the win, and even the Rockets had to admit that Lamarcus was doing something special.
LaMarcus Aldridge is not human.

This series is going to be a fun one to watch, both on the court and on the timelines.
