Many sports fans’ favorite ESPN show will be around for at least a few more years. ESPN has decided to extended the contracts PTI hosts Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser.
For The Win had the scoop on the extension:
“Tony and Mike have made PTI the most successful show of its kind in sports television,” John Wildhack, ESPN executive vice president said in a statement. “We are excited they will continue to entertain and inform our fans for many years to come.”
Kornheiser went on to comment on the extension.
“Why wouldn’t we stay?” Kornheiser told For The Win. “The show’s great and the show is so much fun, it remains fun all the time. I can’t even imagine doing something that is as much fun as this and in my case — and I think Mike’s as well — we’re surrounded by people considerably younger than us and they keep our feet in this century.”
The duo have hosted PTI since 2001 and have seen it grow into one of the most popular sports shows on television. The terms of the new extension are still unknown.
