LeBron James has been very outspoken about his feelings on the Donald Sterling situation. He immediately came out and said there is no place in the league for him and led his team in a show of solidarity with the Clippers players. Now he is urging the owners to take swift action to get Sterling out of here:
With this particular case we’re fighting for, I don’t think it can do anything to hurt our game,” James said. “We’re fighting to get an owner out of our league who shouldn’t be a part of our league. No matter how long it takes, no matter how much money it costs, we need to get him out of there — and whoever is associated with him doesn’t belong in our league.
“Obviously, it’s not going to be night and day — you wake up tomorrow and the team is in someone else’s hands. But we need to get the next step going.”
LeBron’s statements tell me that the players aren’t just going to go back to business as usual after Silver’s decision. They want actual action to be taken by the owners and are still paying close attention to this.
