We’re just one day away from the NFL Draft, and there is still not a player who elicits a wider variety of opinions than former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel.
Projections have Manziel going anywhere from top 3 to outside of the top 10, and while Johnny may not know who is going to take him, according to ESPN he does believe whichever teams pass on him will regret their decision.
“I believe they will, personally,” he said Wednesday at a league-sponsored function in Lower Manhattan. “I know in my heart how good I want to be and how committed I am to this game.”
“I see there’s room for me to improve, but to say I’m just a backyard-football quarterback, I don’t think you do what I did in college and do some of those things [with that style],” he told about 40 reporters. “I don’t think that’s extremely fair. I hear it, but for me, I know it’s all about my work ethic and my will to get better. That’s very alive and inside me.”
Nobody ever accused Johnny Football of lacking in confidence. It will be very interesting to see which team ends up selecting Manziel. Rumors have Jacksonville ready to select him with the third pick, but there is plenty of false info flying around leading up to the Draft. We won’t know for sure until Roger Goodell calls Manziel’s name.
With the NFL allowing players to pick their draft intro music, I’m personally more interested in seeing which Drake song Manziel decides to use.
