As the draft nears, football fans from around the world will look up potential players on the NFL’s website in search of on-field stats, strengths and weaknesses, and analysts thoughts on guys who may be a staple on their favorite team for years to come.
So, please tell me why this is the first sentence of NFL.com’s profile of Northern Illinois safety Jimmy Ward?
OVERVIEW
Has a child. Prepped in Alabama. As a true freshman in 2010, he logged 21 tackles, one pass breakup and zero interceptions with one forced fumble and a school-record three blocked punts.
What does the fact that this young man has a child have to do with football? Will having a child prevent him from excelling in the sport? Why doesn’t this football profile highlight his on-field accomplishments first?
This definitely seems like a shady attempt at a character assault and should be changed immediately.
