Many people seem to believe that with the acquisition of LeBron James and company, Cleveland Cavs guard Dion Waiters has become expendable; or at the very least will be relegated to coming off the bench next season.
However during a Q&A session with fans (these sometimes breed trouble), Waiters let it be known he wouldn’t be accepting a role as a sixth man. Check out his tweet:
The tweet has since been deleted; why? I don’t know. There’s nothing wrong with being confident, and based on the role Waiters played for the Cavs last season he’s right to think so.
Reality is a different story If Waiters is starting, he will either have to adjust him game entirely, or be playing for another team. There is only one basketball to go around, and with LeBron and Kyrie Irving presumably taking care of the bulk of the ball handling; Waiters would have to “get in where he fits in”.
