The Carmelo Anthony Sweepstakes has been in full force this week as Melo has already met with multiple teams. After hearing pitches from the Bulls, Rockets and Mavs in the past couple of days, Anthony will meet later today with the Lakers in Los Angeles.
One team that you may have noticed missing from that list is the New York Knicks, also known as the franchise Anthony last played for. According to Chris Broussard (SOURCES!) of ESPN, the Knicks won’t have to wait much longer for their meeting with Melo.

It seems that New York will be given the opportunity to pitch Anthony last. It’s interesting that the team will meet with Melo out in L.A., however Knicks brass flying out to meet the free agent does show they are committed to bringing him back to the Big Apple.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Knicks would like to meet with Carmelo immediately following his meeting with the Lakers, the last thing Phil Jackson wants is to lose his star to the team that he last worked for.
