You have to give it to ESPN and Miami Herald reporter Dan Lebatard for being unrelenting. He originally tried taking out a full page ad in a Cleveland newspaper to troll LeBron James for taking his talents back to Cleveland, but was denied the joys of a good troll by any local publications. Once this idea failed, Lebatard decided to do a little outside-the-box thinking. Instead Lebatard went way bigger than a newspaper ad and straight to billboards all throughout the Akron. In fact, it wasn’t just one billboard but rather 6 appeared throughout the city.
Just remember folks that there’s always someone willing to trade their soul for a dollar. While Clevelanders are irate and disgusted at Lebatard for the billboards, their anger should be directed more toward the billboard company in Akron. The newspapers chose to stand behind James, yet the billboard company decided that the almighty dollar would rule the day.
