Former European boxing champion Jamie Moore is recovering at a local hospital after being shot twice at his resort in Marbella, Spain.
Moore was wounded in the leg and hip as he returned home from a night of partying.
A gunman is thought to have fired five shots, hitting Moore twice as he returned to an apartment block in the Spanish resort.
The 35-year-old, who became a trainer after retiring from the ring, has since undergone an operation.
He had been working with Matthew Macklin at his Marbella-based gym ahead of an upcoming middleweight fight with Jorge Sebastian Heiland in Dublin, on August 30.
No arrests have been made.
