In the 4th quarter of Thursday’s preseason game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Carolina Panthers there was more flying through the air than footballs. Mark Washburn of the Charlotte Observer reports that:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Tuesday that a camera-toting drone flew into Bank of America Stadium during Thursday’s exhibition game. Its operator was detained, and after questioning, the unidentified man was released and the information was forwarded to the Federal Aviation Administration, which was jurisdiction over such matters, said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department spokesman Rob Tufano.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league is aware of the investigation and has its own policy banning drones from stadiums and parking lots.
