LSU starting receiver Travin Dural may be unavailable for this Saturday’s game against UL- Monroe after sustaining injuries in a car accident.
The source confirmed Dural suffered a head injury that required stitches in the accident, which occurred this past Saturday night after No. 10 LSU’s 56-0 win against Sam Houston State, and was unable to practice with the Tigers early in the week.
LSU coach Les Miles will address Dural’s status after Wednesday evening’s practice, but the source said the sophomore wideout should be available for the Sept. 20 game against Mississippi State at the latest.
Dural ranks second in the SEC in receiving with 145.5 yards per game and first with four touchdown catches. Through two games, he has 214 receiving yards more than the next most productive LSU receiver (John Diarse, with 77 yards and a touchdown on four catches), so the Tigers would have major production to replace if Dural is unable to go against ULM.
Hopefully the injuries to Dural are not serious and he doesn’t miss any extended time. LSU will need all the receivers they can manage when conference play rolls around.
