Report: SMU Interested in Mack Brown

SMU Interested in Mack Brown

Mack Brown spent 16 years as the Texas Longhorns head coach. His last season in Austin was last year, where Texas went 8-5, after losing 30-7 to Oregon in the Alamo Bowl.

Nowadays, Mack Brown is a college football analyst for ESPN, but for how long?

FoxSports.com’s Bruce Feldman reports that “well-connected SMU brass are intrigued by Brown and think he might be tempted by the chance to coach again.”

Landing someone of the stature of Mack Brown would be a home-run hire for SMU. Brown is obviously well connected in the Texas area, so he would be great for recruiting if not anything else.

SMU currently has the legendary Larry Brown on the basketball side. Hopefully for their sake, they can add another Brown.
