After a Friday off to prepare for the Round of 16, Team USA faced off against Mexico on Saturday. Team USA ran away early ending the first up 23-13. By the half Team USA had a 42-27 advantage And they ended up winning 86-63. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 20 points going 6 of 9 from three and 7 of 10 overall. Klay Thompson had 15 points and James Harden had 12. Kyrie Irving played despite his recent back injury and played 24 minutes but only scoring 4 points. On Derrick Rose front, the guard scored 0 points going 0 of 5 from the field. He also had 4 assists.
There was no huge discrepancy in most statistics. Team USA had 15 turnovers and México had 15. México had 7 steals to Team USA’s 6 steals. Only big difference was in Team USA shooting 45% from 3 while México shot 25%.
