Texas Longhorns head coach is facing his first injury crisis of the season, and it’s at the most important position on the team.
Strong just announced that David Ash will miss the Longhorns matchup against BYU with a concussion after taking hard shot Saturday against North Texas.
Texas QB David Ash will not play against BYU, Charlie Strong announces. Took a hit vs. North Texas. Wow.

Tyrone Swoopes will fill in for Ash.
According to Strong, Ash took a hit during the first quarter of Texas’ 38-7 win over North Texas, and appeared fine with no ill effects. Ash never complained about the hit either.
“We would never jeopardize a young man’s health for the good of the football team,” said Strong.
Ash has a history of concussions, and missed 10 games last season due to one.
