It’s time for our weekly installment of college football playoff predictions. Several teams in the Top 10 faced some stiff competition this past weekend so lets see how they did.
Who’s In?
- Florida State
The Noles were taken to the brink by Clemson this weekend and managed to survive without Jameis Winston playing a down. If Winston can manage to stay out of trouble going forward this may be closest call FSU experiences this year. They experienced quite a bit of adversity and still managed to find a way to win, that’s a sign of a good team.
- Oregon
The Ducks hit some adversity as they visited Washington State on Saturday. Oregon’s offensive line struggles were on full display as Mariota was sacked several times and always under pressure. Despite Oregon getting the win, I have a feeling lack of depth at offensive line will be a huge issue going forward.
- Alabama
Nick Saban’s bunch hosted the Florida Gators in Tuscaloosa over the weekend. Despite early turnover struggles that resulted in points for Florida, the Tide still rolled to a 21 point victory due to efforts from Blake Sims and Amari Cooper.
- Oklahoma
The Sooners continued their winning ways in Morganstown this weekend and a star may have been born in freshmen running back Samaje Perine. The 242 pound runner from Texas rumbled for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns in place of Keith Ford who missed the game due to an injury. The Sooners may have one of the most talented backfields in the country and look poised to make a run at the Big 12 title.
Who’s Out?
- Auburn
The Tigers struggled to make it out with a victory in the Little Apple this past Thursday and were three blown field goals away from being upset by the Wildcats.
- Baylor
The Bears were in a holding pattern this weekend on a bye.
- Texas A&M
The Aggies handed out a beat down to the Mustands from SMU as they completed their final tune up for a gauntlet of SEC conference games.
