Rondo hinted at such a prognosis a few weeks back.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens told the media that Rajon Rondo could be ready to go for the Celtics season opener after getting a reevaluation of his broken hand.
Rondo still has not been cleared for contact.
“I don’t know. I still haven’t had any contact yet,” Rondo said when asked about playing on opening night. “The opener is a little bit over a week away. I don’t want to set goals; I just want to go as my hand heals.”
The Celtics open the 2014-15 season at home against the Brooklyn Nets.
Rondo made it clear that he would like to speed up the six to eight week rehab timeline that was set up for him.
