Russell Wilson was magnificent against the Washington Redskins on Monday night, and seems like the only player on the team who’s not still celebrating a Super Bowl.
Wilson is efficient, crafty and making all the correct reads. If you ask Redskins safety Ryan Clark, Russell Wilson is the best thing going in the NFL today.
“We got beat by a better team,” Clark told the Washington Post. “We got beat by, as far as I’m concerned this weekend, the best player in the NFL. Russell Wilson made every play he had to make for his team to win, and we didn’t.”
The question will be asked, did Clark go overboard in labeling Wilson the best in the game today?
Wilson completed 18 of 24 passes for 201 yards, with two touchdowns, and he added 122 yards on 11 rushes and another touchdown, while not turning the ball over one time.
Wilson is in a groove right now, but I’m not sure he’s the “best player in the NFL.” Peyton Manning is playing out of his mind once again on offense, and J.J. Watt just might win MVP.
