Sammy Watkins had his first experience on Revis Island Sunday, and the experience from going up the games best cornerback will definitely benefit the rookie in the long run.
Watkins journey to the island was a complete failure, after Revis held the Bills young star to two-catches on three targets.
After the game Watkins praised Revis, telling the media that the Patriots cornerback “had balls for being willing to step up and press him.”
He’s just what I thought he was,” Watkins said. “He’s a competitor. He competes every play, and he’s got balls to come up and press every play. I tip my hat to him.”
Watkins believes he was open on several occasions, and probably should have had a better outing statistically.
“I think if any other cornerbacks watch this game they won’t come up and press me every play,” Watkins said. “I think they’ll do it sometimes, because as the game went I got off the ball well, and I think I was open a couple of times that I didn’t get looked at.”
