Raiola was honest about why he did it–so I can feel his pain.
The Lions center was angry at the Patriots for running it in for a 34-6 lead, rather taking a knee in victory formation. Raiola admitted after the game that he tried to cut-block Patriots defensive tackle Zach Moore on the Lions’ final offensive snap as retaliation for the score.
“I cut him,” Raiola said. “We took a knee, so I cut the nose (tackle). They went for six (a touchdown). They went for a touchdown at 2 minutes. They could have took three knees and the game could have been over. It’s football. He wants to keep playing football, let’s play football. Not a big deal. It’s football.”
Raiola should be mad at CJ Moseley for getting a personal foul when the Patriots were initially trying to kick a field goal up 27-9.
After the yardage was marked off, LeGarrette Blount ran it in for a one-yard score.
