A large number of NFL contracts have incentives built in contingent on the player reaching certain statistical plateaus, and Pats WR Julian Edelman is no exception. Edelman’s contract contained an incentive that rewarded the diminutive pass-catcher with an extra $500,000 so long as he a) caught 80 or more balls (92 catches on the year), AND b) New England reached the Super Bowl. Kind of an odd combination for an incentive, but when you play on the Patriots, and you’re Tom Brady’s go to receiver, it’s not that crazy after all.
Julian Edelman’s contract includes half-million incentive for 80 or more catches – caught 92 – AND a Patriots' SB trip. $500K. Cha-Ching!

That $500k should easily cover any production expenses should Edelman want to create any more awesome, 80s TV themed parodies with his Patriots cronies.
