There are two different types of football watchers in the world: ones who like to get pumped up and watch the game in person with other fans and ones who like to watch the games in the comfort of their homes.
Well, the Miami Dolphins are trying to find somewhat of a middle ground by creating an in-stadium experience more similar to watching at home.
According to ESPN the Miami Dolphins are taking out seats on the 30-yard lines in the lower section of Sun Life Stadium as a part of a $400 million renovation in order to add 32 “living rooms.” The “living rooms” are sold in groups of four, and each includes a 30-inch wide recliner and iPad, with options for a 32-inch TV for $15,000 more or four 24-inch TVs for $30,000 more.
The cost for the package of four seats is $75,000 and includes food and drinks and access to a lounge area. President and CEO Tom Garfinkel speaks on this decision.
“We’re out to give a gan the very best seat and the very best experience they could possibly have. There are enough people in this marketplace that, if you can do that, [you] don’t care what it costs.”
“You’ll have a comfortable chair, the replays in front of you, RedZone on,” Garfinkel said. “You’ll have a mini garbage to throw things out, you’ll have a drawer with a lock to put your valuables in, you’ll have concierge service so you don’t have to get up to get anything, and you’ll have the game in front of you.”
The seats will also come with access to a VIP lane that will allow fans who pay this huge amount to get in and out of the stadium more quickly.
Garfinkel expects to sell all the seats and have a waiting list. I can’t imagine spending that much money on tickets but like T.I. said…it ain’t trickin if you got it.
