Sports Mockery has an amazing story of two Irish friends dreaming of attending the Super Bowl only to have their dream initially brokens.
It’s a story of perseverance as Paul McEvoy and Richard Whelan somehow managed to sneak into the Super Bowl, and sit in $25K seats, right behind Patriots legend, Ty Law.
They were able to avoid security, drones, medal detector and the bomb sniffing dogs.
“Our game plan was to be super confident. We just thought if we pretend to be there, nobody will question us.”
Richard Whelan explained.
“Between one layer of security and another we just walked in behind these 20 first aid workers, straight up to the front door and hid in behind them. Paul was looking at his phone, pretending to text me, as if we had just popped out to look at an email we got or something. We walked past another security guard that just wasn’t paying attention. I just remember looking at Paul’s face, we couldn’t believe we got in.”
They spent the first half seat hopping, before finally settling into their seats after two young ladies got up and performed in the Supe Bowl halftime show.
They got a lesson from Milloy on the NFL and received a VIP ride home. This an amazing story for the diehard fan who roots for guys to live out a dream.
But the Super Bowl security if they did sneak in was awful and needs to be investigated.
