This might be the first time a deceased sports agent allegedly took advantage of a pro athlete. Baltimore Ravens pass rusher, Terrell Suggs, is suing his deceased agent for failing to live up to their agreement.
According to court documents, Suggs sued the estate of former top NFL agent — Gary Wichard. Wichard is the guy who negotiated Terrell’s $62 million extension with the Baltimore Ravens in 2009.
Suggs says he was obligated to pay Wichard 3% of his salary for the entirety of his deal — but in exchange, Wichard’s agency would take a Roc Nation approach — turning Suggs into a star off the field with big money endorsements.
When Wichard passed in 2011, Suggs says the agency provided him with an “inexperienced and unqualified agent.”
Suggs says the new agent completely dropped the ball — failing to capitalize on his All Pro season in 2011.
