Cuban infielder Hector Olivera has been fielding multiple offers from major league clubs and most recently he fielded a very lucrative offer from the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers.
#Marlins made $53m offer for Hector Olivera, but backed away after hearing #dodgers offered $77m, source says. #padres 52m; #braves 44m

#Marlins offer was for 7 yrs, but made to previous representative, as were other figs. No telling how matters have changed with new rep.

Recently MLB players spoke out about the contracts international players were getting compared to American amateur, this can only add more fuel to the fire. I think the American players have a case, as high school and college players don’t fetch nearly the price tag some international players are, but at the same time the international players have been playing at high levels of competition outside of the states.
