9. New York Giants (6-10) – Shane Ray, DE, Mizzou : The New York Giants main problem is health. It seems as though they’ve lost 6-8 key players to injury each season since their Super Bowl run. With that being said, they still have holes to fill and places where they can improve. Offensive line seems like the area of need for the G-Men but they stand firm on drafting the best available player, i.e. Odell Beckham Jr. last season. Shane Ray is the best pure pass rusher in this draft and the Giants know how important having two stud Des can be for a defense.
10. St. Louis (6-10) – Brandon Scherff, OG, Iowa: St. Louis is another team in position to get the best player available. They are going to hand the offense over to Nick Foles this season and their defense is stout thanks to their 4 1st round picks along the front line. The Rams choose to draft a nasty offensive lineman to protect Foles and revitalize the run game.
11. Minnesota (7-9) – Trae Waynes, CB, MSU Minnesota has a good young corner in Xavier Rhodes but in a division with Stafford and Rodgers it’s always good to have two. Waynes is considered the best DB in this draft and it’d be hard for them to pass on a player that’ll secure their secondary for the next 5 years.
12. Cleveland (7-9) – DeVante Parker, WR, UL: Cleveland has 2 picks in this draft and QB doesn’t seem to be a priority with either *Cue Manziel Fan Club*. The Browns have used free agency to patch a few of their holes but they can always get more playmakers. Parker is a WR that can stretch the field and can try to step in for the oft-suspended Josh Gordon. This will also give Manziel, or another QB, a shiny new weapon to try out over the summer.
13. New Orleans (7-9) – Alvin Dupree, OLB, UK: New Orleans have purged themselves of anyone that had an above average salary cap figure, so they are left with plenty of holes to fill. The place to start is on defense and Dupree is an athlete with an impeccable motor. He could come into the division and be one of the most feared edge rushers in a season or two. That’s if they put him in the right position to succeed.
14. Atlanta (6-10) *Trade w/ Mia* – Todd Gurley, RB, UGA: Atlanta traded down to collect draft picks because they are a team with a lot of holes. They’re the definition of #LifeComesAtYouFast and they need to get younger at a lot of spots. They should probably use this pick to bolster one of their lines but Gurley’s talent is too much to pass up. Adding him to a team with Julio Jones and Roddy White puts teams in a pick-your-poison situation that wil
15. San Francisco (8-8) – Jalen Collins, CB, LSU: San Fran was blind sided this offseason by the retirement of two of their best defensive players, Willis and Borland. They also lost their coach, their best offensive lineman and their franchise running back. So pick a position and the Niners could probably upgrade it. Here they select Jalen Collins to replace one of their two departed cornerbacks. Collins had a great season for LSU and he competed against some of the best WRs in the country. He can step in and play an outside CB spot immediately.
16. Houston (9-7) – Danny Shelton, DT, Wash: Houston’s front seven should be amongst the best in the AFC entering the 2015 season but they can always get better. Shelton is a good interior lineman and many Mock Drafts have him going in the top 10. The Texans can add him to a line that already features JJ Watt and a returning Clowney. Good luck blocking them on 3rd down and long.
