It seems that the Dallas Cowboys have dealt with an injured Morris Claiborne every year. In fact, when he was drafted back in 2012, he was wearing a cast on his arm. Claiborne suffered a nasty knee injury tearing his patellar tendon last seasons but expects to be cleared in time for training camp.
“I can’t wait. Like I said, it’s one of those things. It’s a day-by-day thing. I getting better each and every day; getting stronger each and every day. You know, that’s all I can ask for at this moment.”
Claiborne recently was cleared to start running but is expected to miss OTA’s for the third time during his four-year career. Claiborne has made significant progress since the injury just being able to re-gain his mobility is a great sign.
“I was at a point where people thought I wasn’t going to walk again. I’m in a better place now in my life in coping with my injuries and coming back from them.”
This could end up being a make or break year for Claiborne. He is entering the final year of his rookie deal and hasn’t lived up to the hype his name carried when he was drafted. He needs to stay healthy and make a few plays this season or his time in Dallas could be over.
