Fox has given the greenlight for X-Men spinoff New Mutants to hit theaters.
Director Josh Boone (Fault in our Stars) has been hired to direct the story of young mutants trained at the Xavier Institute to hone and embrace their powers.
The movie will join the ever expanding ‘X-Men cinematic universe’, which as it stands, includes Deadpool coming out in February and a standalone Gambit movie, not to mention X-Men: Apocalypse and the third and final Wolverine movie to film shortly after.
So if you’ve ever wondered why there’s seemingly no rush to team the X-Men in with the MCU’s big players, this is why.
No details yet as to the release date and casting information.
