Spotify is worth billions now, and they’re spreading some of that money around into other media platforms. Along with music, videos will take center stage on the streaming service as well.
The music company has announced a partnership with ESPN, as well as NBC, Comedy Center Vice News and more.
“We’re a music company at heart,” CEO Daniel Ek said at the company’s press event Wednesday — but it’s now looking to bring those users to video as part of their daily media diet.
Spotify is also unveiling a slate of original content as well.
“We want Spotify to help soundtrack your life by offering an even wider world of entertainment with an awesome mix of the best music, podcasts and video delivered to you throughout your day,” Ek said. “And we’re just getting started.”
