The Montreal Alouettes are waiting in the wind for Michael Sam, but should probably start preparing to sign a new pass rusher.
Charles Rooke, a rep for the Alouettes, says the organization isn’t mad at Sam for leaving training camp for “personal reasons,” but he does admit that team personnel has no idea why he left.
Rooke says, “I don’t know what his problems were, so it’s hard to say if he’ll be back. If he wants to play football, we want to have him.”
“It’s not like our season is down the drain [without Sam]. Even the best players coming from down south experience a learning curve. The games are similar, but aren’t identical.”
Sam signed a two-year deal with the team, so the Alouettes own his rights if he wants to play in the CFL. I personally think Sam is done, the ride is over and everyone should just move on.
