I’ll wait for the loud, roaring laugh coming pundits and critics who don’t see Hardy as anything but troubled pass rusher.
They talk about how hard he practices, and how talented a defensive end he is, but can the embattled Greg Hardy really become a team leader?
Even with a 10-game suspension on the horizon, Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and Rod Marinelli believe Hardy can become a team leader as well as a star.
“He attacks every drill. I don’t go much by words, I just watch guys work,” Marinelli said. “His work habits are special. He comes out here, and he goes to work. You can see the passion in every rep.
“He’s just being himself. The best way to make an impression is to be yourself. Just be yourself, and I think he’s doing well.”
If it helps define him, Hardy’s first altercation as a Cowboys player came after he allegedly told Davon Coleman to step it up during team workouts.
That takes a bit of testicular fortitude that not every player has. Hardy has a star pass rusher and team leader remains to be seen.
He’ll get every opportunity to prove himself as such.
