We can make all the memes and caption the photos we want about Russell Westbrook, but he’s attacking the world of fashion and Madison Avenue, just as hard as he does an NBA rim.
Westbrook’s off the court resume is mighty impressive, displaying partnerships with Barneys New York, True Religion, Zenith Watches, Kings & Jaxs and Jordan Brand.
He’s now doing business with the NBA as well.
Russell co-owns a company called ‘Westbrook Frames” and now he’s partnered with the NBA to collaborate on a high-end line of team-specific glasses frames according to Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press.
The initial release includes frames for seven teams – Cleveland, Boston, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami, New York, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. They are available on the Westbrook Frames website for $145.
There are designs for all 30 teams, and eventually, the others will be released, said Marc Beckman, Westbrook Frames co-owner and Westbrook’s marketing agent for fashion.
