Charles Barkley is a huge fan of LeBron James — sadly, we can’t say that he feels the same about the great Scottie Pippen. Barkley was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show, and was asked about Pippen’s comments, that he was “LeBron James, before LeBron James.”
“No. No, he wasn’t,” Barkley said. “Scottie was a terrific player. But Scottie wasn’t a guy who could get you 30 every night. He was a terrific defender, but he wasn’t gonna get you 10 rebounds. LeBron could get you 30 a night. He’s the best defender — Scottie was a great defender. But he wasn’t gonna get you a bunch of rebounds every night. So the answer to that question is no.”
Barkley and Pippen were apart of one of the NBA’s first big three, when they joined Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston, only to breakup, amid bitter circumstances in 1999.
