Cowboys WR Coach Praises Terrance Williams’ Leadership

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver coach praises Terrance Williams

The Dallas Cowboys and star receiver Dez Bryant just haven’t been able to see eye-to-eye.

Bryant tweeted yesterday that he wouldn’t play if a long-term deal is unable to be reached.

Whether Bryant is on board or not, Cowboys wide receiver coach Derek Dooley is excited about Terrance Williams’ progression.

“He’s not only taken a tremendous leadership role in the group, really setting the example of how you do things, he’s expanded his route inventory,” wide receivers coach Derek Dooley said last month, via ESPNDallas.com. “He’s played X. He’s played Z. He’s played in the slot and every day he went out there and was the same player. Every route, every opportunity he had he took advantage of it. So he’s made a big jump this offseason.”

Williams only caught 37 passes in 2014, but he reached the end zone eight times.

If Bryant does indeed sit out the year, expect for Williams to become one of Tony Romo’s primary targets in 2015.
