This is a part of fandom I will never understand.
You can be appreciative of athlete’s talent and be supportive of your team, but they are just human beings, there is no reason to act like savages for an autograph.

The railings on the bleachers were bent forward from the fans leaning on them to reach and thrust their stuff at Odell.

This is ridiculous, adults shouldn’t be putting children, women having seizures and people in back braces in harm’s way for an autograph.
It is 2015, get a selfie stick and put a photo on Instagram, that is worth more than an autograph these days.
