With the Titans putting their faith in rookie Marcus Mariota, it will be imperative for him to have a good relationship with his wide receivers.
New Titans acquisition Harry Douglas feels that he will have a huge increase in his yards after catch, due to the great accuracy of Mariota.
“If you have an accurate quarterback, it allows us to get more yards after that catch,” Douglas said, via Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. “And that’s one thing that makes a receiver dynamic — first being able to catch the ball and then being able to do some things with it after you catch it. I feel like [to this point] Marcus has done everything he needs to do to get the ball to his receivers.”
Douglas might be on to something however, since his old quarterback, Matt Ryan was accurate enough to make Douglas look like a great WR for the Titans to sign.
