Ray Rice has been training and preparing for his NFL comeback. Flashing back to last year Rice was suspended and released from the Ravens after video surfaced of him knocking out then fiance in an elevator.
ESPN is reporting that a team including Rice’s Ex Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano is pushing Rice’s comeback efforts.
Rice, 28, has relocated from the Baltimore area to Connecticut and has been working out daily to get in shape for a chance he might never be provided. One source said Rice is not motivated by money because he made $25 million in his final 18 months with the Ravens. Rather, he at least wants the opportunity to stand in front of an NFL owner or coach and make his case for a chance to compete for a roster spot, the source said.
Also being reported that Rice had developing talks with a NFL team, which was considering making Rice an offer till ownership intervened. The biggest problem keeping Rice from his second chance in the NFL seems to be his age. Rice was showing signs of diminishing production before the incident. Teams worry that bring Rice in will just become a PR nightmare with no production.
