Two years ago, Rupp Arena played host to a NBA exhibition game between the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans, which featured former Wildcats, John Wall and Anthony Davis.
This year, New Orleans will be back, but their opponent will be the Sacramento Kings this time around.
“We had a tremendous crowd in 2013 and we are expecting the great fans of Kentucky to come out and show their support for these former Wildcat stars and these two up and coming NBA teams,” said Brian Breslin, Global Sports Management’s vice president.
Four former Kentucky players will be featured in the contest (Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Rajon Rondo and Willie Cauley-Stein).
While this event is sure to be electric, this is only one of multiple things that’ll be going on in Lexington that week. The day before this game is when Kentucky will have their “Big Blue Madness” and two days before, the first ever Thursday night football at Commonwealth Stadium will take place against Auburn.
